The Brighter Beginnings program involves engaging children in activities to help them develop the appropriate skills required to aid optimal learning when they start school and create a smooth transition to a school environment.
This program assists in developing a child's fine and gross motor skills as well as, target social participation within a group setting with similar aged peers. The program has an emphasis on play-based learning and recognises the importance of communication and language, as well as social and emotional development in the context of performing functional tasks.
The program targets activities that help to develop children's fine and gross motor skills and social participation. It provides a supported environment for children to practice the skills needed in preparation for the next stage of life and to engage and participate in functional age-relevant, meaningful activities.
Our occupational therapists can assist children with a range of learning difficulties to participate and engage in various activities and start working towards developing those foundational skills needed for cutting, pasting, drawing, craft, as well as, playing and engaging socially with peers.
This program is designed to prepare preschool-aged children for the next stage in life. The development of foundational skills allows for future expansion and further develop a child's skill in the specific areas including; social interaction, play, language, emotional development, physical skills, literacy and fine motor skills.

To familiarise children with functional activities and work towards becoming independent with completing tasks such as; drawing, craft, cutting and pasting, and other general fine motor and sequencing development.
To provide a fun and engaging, supportive environment to practice foundational skills. All children learn differently and at different speeds.
We take into consideration that some children require additional encouragement and support to build those skills.
To increase their ability to concentrate and focus on set tasks.
